2011 Porsche Carrera Cup GBThat’s what 44-year-old Keith Webster calls his move into the Pro-Am2 class of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB, and in just his second full season of racing.

Webster only began in 2009, but finished second overall in the GT Cup points standings last year. The Hampshire-based business will race with Red Line Racing with backing from Sovereign Marketing, and LAMP.

“It’s a huge leap,” he said during testing at Donington Park, comparing the car to the BMW M3 he raced in GT Cup.“But it is going great and I’m pretty chuffed with initial progress.” The team’s lead driver James Sutton – one of the few drivers on the British grid with experience of the new generation of Carrera Cup car – has been coaching Webster, the newcomer admitting its helped lower the learning curve he faces.

Red Line Racing boss Simon Leonard also seemed pleased with his new driver’s showings in his first running, remarking; “Keith is progressing very nicely,” said Leonard. “We’ve worked with him over the winter and I think he’ll be a very strong contender for pro-am2.”
