Porsche 991 Turbo cabrioletCaught testing several months back in the European arctic, our latest Porsche spy photos show the 2013 Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet out for some top down fun.

Based on the all-new Porsche 991 platform the newest 2013 Porsche 911 Turbo will be 4-inches longer than its predecessor and make for an even more comfortable ride with a more spacious cabin. With this elongated platform there was some hope that the newest 2013 Porsche  911 Cabriolet would lose the bubble-butt stigma, but based on these photos that doesn’t appear to be the case.

Rumors have suggested the new 2013 Porsche 911 Turbo will get a tri-turbo3.8-liter flat-six setup, using one smaller turbocharger and two larger ones. Not only would this setup produce plenty of power, but it would be more responsive than ever before. Look for engine output of at least 530 hp and acceleration times in the supercar level.

Look for the new 2013 Porsche 911 Turbo to bow later this year at the Paris Motor Show, if not sooner.

In these spy shots, we see the limited-production version in its latest stages of development. It looks quite far along, with a monochrome racing stripe scheme in place of the typical camouflage and a completely finished exterior. Even the clear cover over the engine–which appears to have top-mount exhaust outlets– is in place.

The sleek, aerodynamic shape is very close to the concept version of the car, and the rear wing is deployed–though it’s not yet clear if it’s active or fixed. Relocating the exhaust outlets from the side of the car, as on the concept, to the top of the engine bay, could be about keeping the batteries or other components cool and comfortable. The car also appears to have a removable hard top roof insert to transform the car into a near-coupe-like vehicle.

If you’ve already forgotten, the 918 Spyder is powered by a 500-plus-horsepower 4.0-liter (or larger) V-8 engine at the rear wheels and a pair of electric motors good for a combined 218-horsepower, one at each axle.

The combo enables the 918 to rip off sub-3.2-second 0-60 mph runs and a top speed of 199 mph–and yet it’s capable of up to 78 mpg. Porsche has said the 918 Spyder offers up to 16 miles of all-electric range. A lithium-ion battery pack supplies the electricity, and can be charged from the wall in about 3-6 hours.

Spy Shots Porsche Macan - Porsche compact SUV By AutoMotoPortal.HR_06Porsche spy shots – Porsche Macan: What we have here is the new Porsche Macan. Our crafty spy shooters caught the vehicle testing in minimal camouflage. The new Compact Porsche SUV will go on sale late next year.

The project was known as the Porsche Cajun until February, when Porsche announced the new name and said that it is “derived from the Indonesian word for tiger and combines suppleness, power, fascination and dynamics.”

The Porsche Macan rides on the same platform as the Audi Q5 and will be built at the expanded Porsche plant in Leipzig, Germany.

The headlights, taillights and chrome strip toward the rear are stickers, Porsche’s cheap camouflage. Differentiating it from the Porsche Cayenne, the Porsche Macan has a larger center grille, no creases on the hood, a sloped back and longer overhangs. The new Compact Porsche SUV – Porsche Macan  also reportedly will use a four-cylinder engine, a Porsche first since the Porsche 968 went out of production.

2012 Porsche 911, Turbo, 2012 Porsche Boxster and Cayman non-camouflaged on SF streets

  • 2012 Porsche 911 Turbo and Cabriolet

Porsche recently held some kind of event in San Francisco that required the street parking of not just the 2012 Porsche 911 (Porsche 991), but its yet-to-be revealed 2012 Porsche 911 Turbo and cabriolet variations, along with the upcoming 2012 Porsche Boxster (Porsche 981) and 2012 Porsche Cayman — not to mention a much longer parade of older 911s up the street.

While the 2012 Porsche 911 cabriolet is expected in Los Angeles later this year, the rest may trickle out over the next year or so. For the older 911s, you’ll just have to keep hitting refresh on Bring A Trailer

2012 Porsche Boxster (Porsche 981) camouflage removed :Porsche Spy Shots

Our crafty spy photographer have managed to set lenses upon a completely undisguised 2012 Porsche Boxster S out and about in the light of day. With all of the vehicle’s camouflage removed, we can clearly see the body lines of the new convertible

As Porsche spy shots show, every body panel is new and it now has a bolder, more dramatic profile. At the rear, there are new LED equipped brake lights that wrap around the tail.

According to sources close to the project, the cabin gets inspiration from the new Porsche 911 – meaning clearer instruments and a boost in quality.

There are also bigger roll over hoops, and a more steeply raked windscreen – helping exaggerate this car’s “roadster” status.

Codenamed Porsche 981, the model we have spied is a sporty Boxster ‘S’, which gets huge 18-inch alloy wheels as standard – plus flared wheel arches, a more shapely body and deeper intakes to feed cool air to the rear mounted engine.

Porsche spy shots - Porsche 981Under the skin, there’s an all new platform, which is derived from the new Porsche 911 (Porsche 991) and due for launch in November. Drivers can also expect new suspension, a wider track and a longer wheelbase.

Insiders have told Auto Express the 2012 Porsche Boxster S direct injection 3.4-litre flat six will be carried over to the new line-up but gets stop and start technology and new tuning to meet tougher emissions regulations.

However, time is being called on the old, 255bhp 2.9-litre six-cylinder engine. It will be replaced by a smaller turbocharged flat four-cylinder engine which produces around 270bhp but, crucially, less emissions.

Porsche is working hard to cut its carbon dioxide emissions so the 2012 Porsche Boxster will be lighter than the car it replaces thanks to the use of more aluminium. But the biggest change is likely to come with the engines.

Emphasis will also be placed on the firm’s seven-speed PDK gearbox which allows faster shifts than a manual, but also contributes to better fuel economy because of the better spread of ratios.

Originally tipped to appear at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, it’s thought the car will now make its debut at the Detroit Motor Show in January 2012, before going on sale in spring.

The new Porsche Cayman coupe follows in 2013.
