Chassis Dyno Test - 2011 Porsche 911 GT2 RS Side viewInside Line puts limited-production 2011 Porsche 911 GT2 RS on the chassis dyno to see just how much power it’s putting to the road.

That’s 580 horsepower and 518 lb-ft as measured at the wheels on California’s “premium” 91 octane. Yeah, all the ponies are in the stable. And how. Torque hovers right around 500 lb-ft from 3500 to nearly 6000 rpm and barely tapers off as it runs into the fuel cut, resulting in a crushingly wide and flexible powerband.

Schmidt Revolution focuses on Porsche Panamera Tuning :Pictures

Porsche Panamera Tuning - Schmidt RevolutionThe Porsche Panamera continues to draw attention from Europe’s aftermarket tuners, only this time, Schmidt Revolution’s proposal for the sports saloon is far more subtle than what we’re used to.

The German tuner starts their Panamera Tuning project with a standard Panamera 4S, which leaves Porsche’s factory with a 4.8-liter V8 engine churning out 400-horses and 500Nm of peak torque. The performance modifications, courtesy of Rennsport, include a software optimization (€990 or about US$1,443) that increase output to 425HP and 535Nm, along with a suspension module (€390 or around US$568) that lower’s the ride height by 40mm and sport exhaust system (€590 or about US$860).

Key to the package is a new set of 22-inch alloy wheels from Schmidt Revolution wrapped in tires size 265/30 R22 at the front and 305/25 R22 at the back (€4,900 or about US$7,141).

Schmidt Revolution said that it is also working on an interior package with bespoke leathers and trim, details of which will be released at a later date.

Porsche Spy shots: 2012 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S

2012 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S Spy shots at Nurburgring circuit Front angle viewThe new, second-generation Porsche Cayenne SUV has been on sale for just under a year now but like any model from the legendary sports car brand, special editions and uprated models are always in the pipeline. One of these will be the sportier ‘S’ variant of the Cayenne Turbo, which has been spotted testing in prototype form for the first time, where else but at Germany’s Nurburgring circuit.

The current 2011 Porsche Cayenne Turbo makes do with a twin-turbocharged 4.8-liter V-8 delivering an even 500 horsepower. The Cayenne Turbo S, which should arrive towards the end of the year as a 2012 model, is likely to be packing a 550 horsepower version of this engine. This, incidentally, represents the same leap in performance seen in the 2012 Porsche Panamera Turbo S over the regular Panamera Turbo.

2012 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S Spy shots at Nurburgring circuit Rear angle viewThe increased engine performance can be attributed to two main enhancements–improved turbochargers with titanium-aluminum turbine wheels and a modified ECU.

Other modifications should include a slightly revised bodykit, new wheels, possibly increasing vehicle track width, as well as more trim options for the cabin. The prototype seen here appears to feature a lower front bumper, additional aero parts at the bottom of the doors, and a heavily camouflaged rear diffuser.
